Children’s Hooded Sweatshirts Recalled by Urgent Gear Due to
Strangulation Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Nordstrom Stores
Urgent Gear Inc. announced a voluntary recall of their Micros Boys’
Hooded Jackets. The garments have a drawstring through the hood, which can pose a strangulation hazard
to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting
entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. This
recall involves Micros boys’ 100% cotton jackets. The hooded sweatshirts have a drawstring through the
hood. They were sold in black with a peace sign patch and a "MCC Micros" patch on the chest, silver with a
silver stitched design on the front, and gray with skulls on the front. Style numbers BZAT 718 (Black) / BZAT
722 (Silver) / BZAT 724 (Dark Gray) are printed on a label sewn into the jacket’s inner side seam.
