Consumer Focus: Changes in Credit and Gift Cards in 2010A lot of people have had trouble with their credit cards. The Credit Card Act will help protect consumers from unfair credit card practices. While the new law will take effect on February 22, 2010, some changes took effect on August 20, 2009 and others will take effect on August 22, 2010. To learn what those changes are and how they can protect you from credit card abuse, take a look at February's Consumer Focus: Changes in Credit and Gift Cards in 2010. You will also find information on getting your free credit report and how the Credit Card Act includes safeguards for gift cards and pre-paid cards.
